SANTA MONICA, CA — April 23, 2001 — Edmunds.com, the Web's leading consumer resource for unbiased automotive information, today announces the launch of Used Vehicle PowerShopper, a free consumer service that simplifies and aggregates the various transaction options in the used vehicle marketplace, making them easily understandable and accessible to used vehicle shoppers and sellers.
After a visitor inputs a ZIP code and indicates interest in buying or selling a vehicle, Used Vehicle PowerShopper provides a list and description of appropriate service providers in the selected region. At launch, participating companies in Used Vehicle PowerShopper include Autobytel.com, AutoNation, AutoTrader, AutoWeb, CarDay, General Motors Certified Used Vehicles, iMotors, and Stoneage.
"Used vehicle shoppers and sellers have many online and offline options in today's marketplace," said Avi Steinlauf, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances at Edmunds.com. "Edmunds.com visitors conducting research on used vehicles will appreciate Used Vehicle PowerShopper's effectiveness and simplicity in explaining how each service works, so that individuals can make their own informed decisions and pursue the transaction style of their choice."

New Vehicle PowerShopper participants include Autobytel.com, Acura, AutoNation.com, Carsdirect.com, DealerNet.com, General Motors Buy Power, Honda, Lincoln-Mercury, LiquidPrice.com, and Sonic Automotive.
Consistent with Edmunds.com's long-standing policies of impartiality and objectivity, consumers are invited to share their feedback about the quality of their online purchase and selling experiences using the New and Used Vehicle PowerShopper tools through Edmunds' Town Hall community.
