Overview
The 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe can feel a bit like a dinosaur when compared to the endless supply of crossover SUVs flooding American streets. But as any 9-year-old can tell you, dinosaurs are awesome. The Tahoe received a refresh in 2025 and, in addition to an exterior refresh, got a power boost for its optional diesel engine. As such, we don't expect major changes to the 2026 Tahoe. Its massive size, impressive standard engine, and strong towing power make it a great pick for large families looking to hit the open road.
Edmunds spotlight: Big screen comes standard
Starting in 2025, the Chevy Tahoe comes standard with a 17.7-inch touchscreen along with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. We're big fans of Chevy's interface, which uses Google technology, and liked it quite a bit on the smaller 10.2-inch screen. The menus are easy to navigate and it doesn't take five taps to get where you want (looking at you, BMW!).
Competitors to consider
The GMC Yukon is worth a look if you're in the market for a more upscale interior — it's essentially a luxury version of the Tahoe. The Ford Expedition offers similar pros and cons to the Tahoe, though it hasn't been redesigned since 2018 and feels less modern as a result. Toyota recently redesigned the Sequoia, which is also worth considering.
