Advertises false low price, add useless dealer installed accessory
by apadmana1 on 09/06/2016updated 09/12/2016This dealership sends low price quotes and indicates everything is included. I even double checked with them asking if they have any dealer accessories pre-installed. They said no. But when I visited the dealership they had unnecessary… accessories installed. This bumped up the price by ~$1400. The sales person agreed that they were losing money on the vehicle and so they have to make it up by saddling you with unnecessary extras and that every dealership around was doing the same. Then finally a sales person with whom we were negotiating with agreed on a price and then said he had to confirm with his senior. The senior arrived and quoted a much higher price and did not seem to know what we had agreed with the earlier sales man. Luckily we were able to get our car from a different dealer without the unnecessary extra accessories and at a much lower price. Avoid visiting them.Apadmana1, we regret that you had a negative experience with us, but are glad you brought this to our attention.
My 2016 Honda Civic

I was so nervous at 1st and I came in to maybe buy a new used car. Sam made me feel so comfortable and he made sure I… understood everything. He took his time and then shocked me with asking if I wanted to see the 2016 cars. I was so excited he then asked me my favorite color! He showed me the difference between a LX and a EX. He showed me prices and when we were done and the car was mine, he took more time out and showed me how to operate my new car!! He is an asset to Honda!! And I want to also say all the other people I dealt with at Ed Napleton was also so friendly. Excellent Experience All Around
by rfrank512 on 07/08/2016I've been buying cars for 40 years, and my recent purchase of a 2016 Honda Accord EX was an experience better than all others.Like so many, I dread having to go through the haggling process at any car dealer, but I had the good fortune of… dealing directly with the General Manager, Steve Ignowski, and he eliminated the usual anxiety of purchasing a car. I had been searching for a new import because I had gotten so frustrated having purchased a 2015 Chrysler 200S a year earlier (which is another book). The Chrysler was the best deal I was able to get at the time, but I should have waited even longer than I had. Being a previous satisfied Honda owner, I wasn't concerned about the quality of the vehicle. However, I had been to four other Honda dealers that would not deal. They offered far too little trade-in value for my Chrysler that was in excellent condition with only 20K miles on it, and offers were significantly below KBB and Edmunds values. On top of that, all the Honda dealers were very stubborn in reducing the sales price. I was just about to give up looking for any car when I received a call from the General Manager at Ed Napleton Honda in Oak Lawn who happened to look me up from the internet searches I had done. I told him the obstacles I had been having looking for a new Honda, and he asked me to give him a challenge. So I laid out the parameters of what I was looking for, and a couple days later, the Chrysler was gone, and my new Honda was in my garage. The Chrysler was such an issue that my wife would not even drive it due to various design issues, and when I mentioned this to the GM, he suggested I take a new Honda Accord home with me for the night to allow my wife to drive it, and develop a comfort level. Even though I didn't need it, he offered to let me keep it for a week if I wanted. That closed the deal. And the one thing that really made a difference is that the dealer demonstrated appreciation after I drove away with my new car. No other dealer in forty years ever called, sent me a thank you note, or expressed any appreciation for my business. No dealer is perfect, but this one did make a difference. As for the car, it sells itself. The fuel economy is superior, and the audio system is similar to much pricier cars. Great ride.Thank you very much for sharing these comments, Rfrank512.

I decided to go with the Ex Accord, boy was I glad I did, it has so much more to offer.… If you need good advice and professional associate look for Sam. Be careful when buying used

bad sales practices
by LostMyBusiness on 02/27/2016I had a horrible experience at ed napelton honda. I would never enter a dealership named ed napelton. I was told one price on the phone and another price when i came in. When i came in, the person i talked too, soon ducked out and told me… someone more experienced would help me. When I was interested in the 0.9 percent interest rate i was soon told i dont qualify, but do qualify for an 8 percent loan. Of course I was putting down 38 percent of the purchase price and had two adult family members with me. Salesman never mentions cosigner or more money down instead encourages 8 percent loan on new car that benefits dealership. Price of vehicle went up 500 dollars from phone conversation to appointment at dealership, after through phone conversation and appointment set. Ed Napelton runs a flim flam sales staff and I believe the name is a disgrace. If the sales staff had one once of integrity they would have sold one unit and had future customers patronize them in coming years.Instead they tried to take advantage of a potential customer for there financial gain. Dear Ed Napelton the knife cuts both ways.We appreciate your review unfortunately due to a credit score that did not meet the minimum required by Honda Financial to obtain the 0.9% financing, we presented you the best financing rate we received from Honda.
