Above and Beyond Service
by TONYOPAT on 04/19/2016We have four Toyota's in the family. O'Brien Toyota has always given me perfect service without trying to up-sale me. I tried going to Butler Toyota a couple times because Butler is so much closer to where I live, but they treated me… like all they wanted to do was add items to my service call. I needed to have a smart key programmed. Butler said the regular price for programming was $60, but since I didn't buy the smart key from them they would have to charge me $130. O'Brien's regular fee for this was $40, and even though I didn't buy it from them they still charged me only $40. Butler said they would not do it for $40, nor the regular $60 fee. I'm sorry that I tried Butler even if they were close to where I live. From now on I'll go where the best service is, O'Brien Toyota.TONYOPAT, Our Service employees are some of the best in town! As easy and professional as it gets
by semch on 08/10/2015I purchased a 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid after seeing it advertised on Edmunds.com. After sending in a request for information, I was very promptly contacted by Danielle Lovins. She was polite, very quickly got me the information I… requested (more complete info on the car, carfax report, etc.), plus some additional information that was very helpful. I talked to her on the phone and she quickly established herself as helpful and friendly but not pushy. When I decided to come in and see the car, she came in on her day off to meet me, negotiated in a straight forward, relaxed fashion, without any of the gimmicks commonly associated with car salesmen. When they were unable to give me what I'd hoped to to get from a trade in, she even gave me advice about how I could potentially get more money for it via other options. I don't know what else to say - I got a very nice car for a fair price, was treated with respect , and the whole process was enjoyable. The service manager, mechanics and service adviser are friendly, prompt and completely explain… the services they will perform and keep in contact on status. The repairs have always been top notch and the pricing fair. Unlike some other dealerships, I do not feel they push other repairs or services that are unnecessary. Very upset customer.

I was given the run around for six weeks, left stranded twice, lied to and… mislead. After physically visiting a couple of dealerships I was unimpressed… by the lack of service, knowledge and overall friendliness of the people I dealt with. I decided to buy from O'Brien and I am glad I did. Danielle made the process simple, and even spent quite a bit of her time after I had already bought my FJ, going over the vehicle and explaining all of the features. She called me a few days later and even offered a refresher course if I would stop by for 15 minuets! Great, easy-going experience

She was very helpful and provided all the information I asked for before I made the drive to the dealership. This was important as I live all the way in Dayton,… OH. Upon arrival, she fulfilled every request I asked of her. I ended up purchasing a Prius IV and I am very happy with it thus far. O'Brien was very accommodating in fixing a few marks on the leather and cleaning the car before I picked the car up. Never have I been treated more rudely!
by daf62757 on 09/11/2010My wife wanted a new car and we decided on a Rav-4. We traded in a Pontiac Vibe. The trade in process was as with most trade in, a read screwing, but my wife really wanted the Rav-4 so I was willing to take what they gave me. I was lied… to by the sales manager about what the final price of the car would be and when I showed up with a check from my credit union, the finance manager was so rude to me. He told me he could have gotten me a better interest rate but never bothered to even check so it was all talk. By midway through the finance manger doing thee paperwork, I really wanted to beat the crap out of him. I have bought a few cars in my day and this was by far, the rudest treatment I have ever received. You would have never known I had just bought a $22,000 SUV. I refuse to ever go to this dealership again. I have bought 2 Toyotas since this purchase and have gotten much better treatment by both. I am sure this finance guy has since been fired, but I will never go back after they allowed this [violative content deleted] to treat customers like me so rudely.Great service!

I'd located three vehicles I wanted to look at there, on Autotrader.com. The one I liked had a higher price listed than was cited at… Autotrader.com, but the good people at O'Brien honored the Autotrader.com price! Danielle L. was very respectful, helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. After the completion of the sale, Danielle sat with me in the car, and showed me every little thing on the navigation system. She even set the clock to the exactly right time! All in all, it was a very easy and comfortable transaction.2GoGreen, Thank you for your comments. Said the right things, but no honesty or integrity.
by stayathomedad on 04/26/2011updated 04/26/2025Negotiated by email to buy a new 2011 Sienna in person at the dealership for a vehicle in stock, on their lot. Paid by check, in full. They agreed to deliver the vehicle to my home 75 miles away. When the van arrived, all was well except… it arrived with only one key set, instead of the two present with the vehicle at the dealership the day before. The salesman claimed he had given me the second set of keys (he had not). The keys never turned up, and I requested they provide another set (remote, normal key, and valet key). Great resistance was given. Calls and emails were not returned. It took a call to Toyota customer service, to receive a call from the sales manager. He refused to arrange replacement by my local dealership, insisting on a 150 mile roundtrip to his location. He just wanted to save some $$ to fix their mistake. I took the van and my two very young kids to the dealership as he requested for the fix, as the keys and van need to be programmed together. Unfortunately, the sales manager did not order a valet key. Since I had already made one unnecessary round trip to fix their mistake, I requested they arrange to to do the second key programming at my local dealership, at their cost. The manager said he would order the valet blank and call me to arrange this. Seven days later, no call. It took me three calls, a voice mail, and an email to reach either the salesman, internet manager, or sales manager. The sales manager dumped me off on the parts department! Yes, the blank was in, but parts wanted me to pay for the programming. Transferred back to the sales manager. Some more delays, then the offer to send me the key so i could pay $44 to the local dealership to program the car. Obviously, not acceptable. So, either drive 150 miles for a third time or pay out of pocket to fix their mistake. Very unhappy. Lots of people playing hot potato with my issue. Lots of promises, but no spine to do the right thing and fix the issue. Never, ever, buy a car from these [violative content deleted]!No car dealership can be trusted, so I think the lesson to be learned by your unfortunate experience is never buy a car sight-unseen, long-distance, delivered, etc.
